to continue.
For those invisible friends who have been following my search for paradise, you will be interested to know that The search continues.
During these three months it became urgent that I tick goole of my list of possible sites
and so I went north and then east towards the rising sun.
To the flat lands past Doncaster.
I stayed in a nice bed and breakfast run by some sweet chinese
who spoke little english watched Hong Kong T.V
but could not have been more pleasant and welcoming.
Out on to the mean streets of goole.
Mean they were not.
Bakers abounded
pies such as you have never seen if you dont live in yorkshire
Manchester pie
curd tarts
A Russian grocery
selling
pickles herring with plums
a library translating into
Lithuanian
Russian
Estonian
Polish
Bulgarian
Cantonese
swedish
Brazilian to mention a few
Of course it was a port and
now its a container port
is near Hull and cheap to access the continent.
A small town a company town built in 1820's
has turned into a melting pot.
Its disabled friendly
I had an electric scooter for £5
for three days.
A wonderful waterways museum
rides by the river.
I wished I had been able to find a room without stairs,
but for £27 a night
and T.V and en suite and all the coffe or tea I could drink
plus an unexpected invitation
to afternoon tea with French pastries
and an excellent chinese meal.
plus not living there make me think of goole
with rose coloured specs.
so it would seem that paradise however fleeting can be found in the strangest places.
